Since opening our doors in 1976, Gingerbread Corner has been more than just a childcare setting—it has been a place where children feel safe, valued, and supported to grow. Generations of families have come through our doors, creating a strong sense of community, trust, and belonging that continues today. We provide high-quality childcare and early years education in a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to learn through play, build confidence, and develop at their own pace. Our setting is designed to inspire curiosity and imagination, helping children build the foundations they need for life. As a charity, we are committed to supporting families and ensuring our services remain accessible to those who need them most. For many, we are more than childcare—we are a vital source of stability, care, and reassurance. Your support can make a real difference. Every donation helps us continue providing a safe, enriching environment and ensures that every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Story

Team Playcare; Sue, Leanne, Paula, Jacqui, Karen, , Kelly, Natasha and Emma will be taking part in the Doitforcharity London 5km run which will take place on Sunday 10th May in , to raise funds for the New Gingerbread Corner.

Croydon Playcare has been successfully raising funds for the last 3 years to build a brand new Children’s Centre. We move into our new building in autumn this year but still need to equip or fund some rooms or areas including the romp room, multi-sensory room, adventure playground and multi-surface play court.
