Gio Wise is a TikTok basketball influencer who loves basketball and trains up to 3 times a day for 3-4 Hours. Gio found his love for basketball at community centers, like the Boy’s and Girl’s Club, when he was young. These spaces provided him a reprieve from the poverty, bullying, and struggles of living without a father in the home. They gave him food, encouragement, and community. Most of all, they provided him with the space to develop a passion that helped him become who he is today.

Growing up in a rough environment, Gio knows what it means to struggle with feeling like you don’t have a future. He knows how hard it can be to resist the pull of living a life of crime when that’s all you’re surrounded by. Gio did this by putting his all into basketball, despite being 4 foot 9 as a freshman and only weighing 83 pounds. Now that Gio is older, he wants to leave a positive impact on today’s youth and help the boys and girls club raise money so that kids from all backgrounds can have the same opportunities he had to succeed. Gio is very grateful for the Boys and Girls Club of America and basketball for everything they’ve done for him.
