Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Girton College Chapel Choir's JustGiving page.

This summer’s tour will mark Girton College Chapel Choir’s debut performances in the United States. In this the 800th anniversary of the University of Cambridge and the 140th anniversary of Girton College, the choir will serve as a musical ambassador for these institutions. The ensemble will sing in the foremost ecclesiastical venues on the eastern continental seaboard, including Washington National Cathedral and The National Shrine in Washington D.C. as well as St Thomas Church Fifth Avenue, New York (see full itinerary at www.girton.cam.ac.uk/news).

The centrepiece of the journey will involve three days of recording sessions in order to produce a new Girton Choir disc.

Although much of the funding (nearly £10,000) has been raised for the tour, there remains a shortfall of £5,000. Benefactors able to assist us at this stage will have their names included in the liner note of the new choir CD. Join us in this auspicious project that raises the profile of Girton College in America!
