Nerve Tumours UK provides support and information, as well as campaigns and raises awareness on behalf of over 26,500 people in the UK who have NF, the group name for Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), NF2-related-Schwannomatosis (NF2) and Schwannomatosis (SWN).

Story

My nephew Freddie lives with this condition called Neurofibromatoses, a lifelong complex disorder that can never be changed. Due to the condition, Freddie has weakening in his muscles which affect his day to day life. He has benign tumours in his brain and spine which affect his walking, coordination and behaviour. He has learning difficulties and hypersensitivity to sounds and textures. He also has issues with his growth, suffers headaches, nose bleeds and has cafe au lait spots all over his body. All of this sadly was not inherited, but a fault in his genes.

In the next 2 weeks alone, Freddie will have to attend 8 hospital appointments and yet through all this, he would never show that he suffers or that he is unhappy. He is constantly playing, smiling and laughing. Being our personal comedian, making sure he always picks up his uncle's favourite treats when he visits the shops and always being kind and considerate with others.

Nerve Tumours UK are doing their best to tackle this condition and it would be great if you could all donate to support this cause and I will do my best to run the Half Marathon and not collapse in the process :-D

Thanks All x
