The Foundation supports projects that aim to reduce social isolation, improve health and wellbeing, or prevent ill-health. Funds also support services, equipment, staff training and staff and patients’ amenities over and above those funded by the NHS.

Story

Eva Jakobsen the matron for Glenbourne will be trekking to Everest base camp and the Goyka lakes to raise money to help re-furb this space. The Aim is to raise a £1000. She is leaving on the 5th Nov 2022 for three weeks

Our coffee shop closed its doors during the pandemic and has long been left unloved and uncared for ever since. It is our intention to breath some new and improved life into this space. Our aim is to repurpose it and rebrand it for our lovely patients, their families and amazing staff – Welcome to our new Well Being Hub…….

Our vision is to create a wellbeing space which invites a calm and tranquil atmosphere for our patients to explore what is meaningful to them and their recovery whilst at Glenbourne. Our wellbeing hub will be used for connectiveness between patients, to meet with friends and family and to complement our existing therapeutic space for groups and one to one work. Our hub will be a space that will lend itself to information sharing with patients about practical tasks of daily living and will also promote engagement and improve links with community projects.  You will find Cinema evenings, shared quizzes, coffee mornings and advice groups held in our new and improved space to enhance patient experience. The hub will also invite our hard working staff members to relax whilst having a break, encouraging time to relax, to switch off and chat with colleagues, maybe even some lunchtime yoga will be found here! Our hub will not discriminate between staff and patients ‘them and us’ but it will be designed to be inclusive and safe for all.

To achieve our aims we need your help, your donations and support. Monetary donations are very welcome to help us make our vision a reality for our patients and staff. If you are unable to donate financially but have donations of a different kind such as art work, plants etc please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
