Story
So, what's involved in an IRONMAN? I start with a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride and finish with a 26.2 mile run.
3 gruelling endurance events, back to back on one day. I'm sure the 'breathtaking views of the Lancashire countryside' I'll experience, plus the excitement of tackling the Sheep House Lane climb (not once, but twice!) will spur me on but not as much as knowing that with your help, I'm raising much-needed funds for The OLLIE Foundation.
Let me explain...
In 2016, three parents who had all lost their teenage sons to suicide, vowed to do all they could to prevent other families suffering similar tragedies. The OLLIE Foundation (One Life Lost is Enough) is a registered charity funding suicide intervention skills training for adults working with young people.
Since 2016, they have trained over 400 people in suicide prevention. Your sponsorship will help them train even more people, break down the stigma attached to suicide, and increase awareness.
Thank you for supporting me and them.
