Cuffaro Family 10k run for Brain Tumour Research at UCLH

10k run for Brain Tumour Research · 25 October 2020
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We are raising money for the Glioblastoma Research Fund (1051) led by Dr Paul Mulholland, Consultant Medical Oncologist, University College London Hospitals. This is because new treatments are urgently needed to improve the outcomes for all brain tumour patients and the aim of this research is to investigate and develop new and novel treatments.
The Cuffaro family, Alf, Gill, Belinda, Frankie, Belinda's boyfriend Mitchell and Frankie's girlfriend Alice are therefore taking on the challenge of running 10k along the river and around the lakes of the Lee Valley Park in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire. This is a minor challenge compared to the huge one faced by Belinda when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour, aged 23 soon after graduating from University and starting her first job in London.
Belinda is feeling well after completing 3 years of continuous treatment at the beginning of 2020 during which time she received excellent medical and nursing care from all the staff at the RLH and UCLH Macmillan Cancer Centre, who were kind, compassionate and supportive throughout and who we cant thank enough.
We will be undertaking our 10k run on Sunday 25th October at the start of International Brain Tumour Week and hope to highlight the importance of providing funding for this crucial research to continue. We hope that this will be the start of other events to fundraise for this worthy cause.
Any donation, however small will be gratefully received and appreciated and will support the continuation of this vital work. If possible please encourage friends, family, work colleagues and organisations to also donate so we exceed our target and raise as much as we can.
Thanking you in anticipation of your support
Belinda, Frankie, Alf and Gill Cuffaro x
