Standard Bank - London to Mombasa Cycle Ride · 11 October 2012

Haller works with nature to regenerate ecosystems and build thriving communities. In Kenya we equip subsistence farmers living on dry, eroded land with the knowledge to harvest water, rehabilitate the soil and farm sustainably so they can become self-sufficient and generate a livelihood.

Story

The Global Markets team are taking part in Standard Bank Plc's attempt to cycle the distance from London to Mombasa, some 4,491 miles.

Standard Bank Plc is raising money to work with Haller to help a rural community on the outskirts of Mombasa, Kenya to achieve sustainable livelihoods. This will be achieved by providing a rain-fed dam, a well for clean drinking water and sanitation facilities. With access to water, Haller will teach the community to regenerate their land to enable crops to grow which can then be eaten and provide an income.
