Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in people’s homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.

Story

Glynn passed away on Friday 3rd March 2023 aged 39, after a long and courageous battle with bowel cancer.

Glynn was full of life and lived it to the best. He was a kind, loving and a generous man, an amazing father and wonderful husband. He had a flair for life, whether it was sitting in his pjs with a glass of wine watching Masterchef or celebrating in the owners’ and trainers’ area at Aintree. When his cancer returned in 2021, he battled it with positivity and was defiant until the end.

After frequent hospital stays, we were able to bring Glynn home for his final weeks. Katherine Burnett, our Marie Curie nurse, was outstanding and the support and care we received meant that Glynn was comfortable in his final days. Katherine was there every step of the journey for Glynn and myself.

We would like to raise funds on behalf of Glynn so they are able to continue their work to support other families in these turbulent times.

In lieu of flowers at Glynn’s funeral, we ask that you give generously for this worthy cause.
