Story

UPDATE

Thanks for all the support - we are all nursing sore limbs having hauled ourselves through the tri- and are now planning our next adventure!

So, why are we putting ourselves through months of training? Getting up at 5am in the dark and the rain, only to squeeze ourselves into ridiculous clothing as we slog through the 1.5k swim in the Thames, 40k on a bike with no padding, before a lung sapping 10k run around Windsor andEton?

Well, apart from the fear of middle age spread, we are doing it because of Maddie.  She was Mathew and Helen’s daughter and my goddaughter, who brightened our lives for too short a time.  Maddie was born with a rare genetic syndrome called Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome in 1999.  During the time she was alive the Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome Trust provided invaluable support to her parents.

The vital work they provide continues today, offering information and support to families all over the UK.

So please sponsor us!  Your support will make all those long hours of training - in the pool, on the bike, running in the rain – all the more worthwhile.
