The 3 Peaks Challenge is one of the UK’s best known mountain challenge events, which involves climbing the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales. At midday on Wednesday 7th June a team of 21 climbers made up of 11 EMCOR UK employees and 10 supply chain partners will commence the ascent of Ben Nevis, Scotland. This will be followed by Scafell Pike, England which will be climbed during the middle of the night and finishes at Mount Snowdon, Wales.

The challenge is to climb the 3 highest mountains in the UK in just a 24-hour period. To complete the challenge the team must complete the 26 miles of walking, 11,182ft total ascent and 462 miles of travelling before midday on Thursday 8th June.We are doing this challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, and our collective aim is to raise £62,483 which would pay for a Macmillan Nurse for 1 year, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.

struggled to find the words. After much deliberation, I found
my reasons in rhyme...

Yet this disease does not love, in any of its kinds

We've got used to its presence,

We look for the signs.

In the back of our minds, we know it's '1 in 2'

But you never expect it

To happen to you.

Or someone you know, a neighbour on the street

A friend, a child

Far too young to compete.

The hearts and the homes of innocent people

It's presence has darkened, my own family door

Multiple times,

We move forward

Restore.

As a unit, a force, togetherness is key

Memories of love ones, Who may never see

A wedding, a grandchild, a daughter growing up

The families left behind

Without the half-full cup.

And as hard times fall, at random, without fairness

The more strength we must find to support, raise awareness,

For all of the fighters

Families, carers, survivors

I will give back

Endeavour to be a provider.
