Going Bald for Macmillan

Finlay Hewitt is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support

Going Bald for Macmillan · 16 September 2022

The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Hi, I'm Fin, 16, and along with Coal Clough Academy, I want to help raise as much money as possible in support of the countless lives who have and will be upturned or destroyed by cancer. I think almost every one of us has been affected by it in some way.

I'll be supporting the brilliant Macmillan by going bald at Coal Clough Academy's Macmillian coffee afternoon on Friday the 16th of September. Anyone is welcome to come to the afternoon for a great selection of delicious cakes, it begins at 13:30.

Last year I and Coal Clough Academy raised £300! Which, as you can imagine, is a huge achievement! I’m sure that as a community we can go even bigger this year. Let's raise money to beat Cancer!

I'm aware you've got to stay vigilant of scams nowadays, so feel free to check the head of Coal Clough Academy's Twitter to prove I'm legit. I also don't have access to any of the money, it goes directly through JustGiving.

Please don't feel any pressure to donate either, we are in a cost-of-living crisis after all. However, if you donate or not, thank you for taking your time to read this.

Also, please be aware that JustGiving will charge you 2.9% plus 20p of whatever you donate. Every other penny goes straight to Macmillan though!
