Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People (QEF) is a disability charity based in Surrey, with national reach. We have more than 85 years’ experience of developing innovative services which support almost 10,000 disabled people a year to achieve their potential and increase their independence.

Story

Thank you for visiting Gold Rush’s team fundraising page. On 5th October, Team Gold Rush will take on the Rough Runner to support the fantastic work that Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People (QEF) do.

QEF is a national charity committed to providing services that enable people with disabilities to increase their independence and achieve their goals in life. Along with their family of charities, including MERU, VASD and SSM, QEF work with children and adults with physical or learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries. Whether it’s gaining new skills to live independently, rehabilitation after a brain injury or stroke, or improving independence through increased mobility, bespoke equipment or accessible holidays; QEF helps disabled people to fulfil their potential in life.

Gold-i’s elite team of athletes will be challenging themselves to complete a 10K obstacle course which merges distance running and obstacles inspired by all the game shows we love – think Total Wipeout with a dash of Ninja Warrior. As a corporate partner of QEF, Gold Rush have decided to put themselves to the test in aid of QEF’s new Care and Rehabilitation Centre, which will provide a state-of-the-art hub of expertise for people with a wide range of disabilities. Using assistive technology, residents will have real control over their surroundings – for example turning on their TV, opening and closing their blinds, and controlling their heating and lighting without help from carers.

Any donation you can give, large or small, will go towards this amazing
technology and will help QEF continue to do life-changing work. To find out more about QEF and the Care and Rehabilitation Centre, please click here:
