We're supporting Guide Dogs UK! They work to breed and train guide dogs and create partnerships to give blind and visually impaired people freedom and mobility. There are over 2 million people in the UK living with sight loss, and a service dog can massively help with empowering them to live independently.
We're aiming to raise £500, which could support a working guide dog partnership for about two months! Whatever we raise, we're going to be funding some awesome things:
- £3 could pay for a microchip for one of their new guide dog pups
- £8 supports a working guide dog partnership for a day
- £16 buys a coat for a puppy in training
- £26 buys a white harness for a fully qualified guide dog
- £116 pays for a Training School Kit for guide dog trainers
- £348 buys a starter kit for three new guide dog owners
- £420 funds an iPad for a visually impaired child to support their education
If you want to chaos, we also have possibility for stretch goals - £1500 supports a guide dog partnership for 6 months, and at £2500 the Goldie Gang can name a Guide Dog puppy and follow its journey!
For more transparency on where your money goes! For every £1 you spend, Guide Dogs spends (as of 2021):
- 54p on providing guide dogs & adult services
- 32p on generating income
- 8.5p to campaigning & awareness raising
- 5p to children & young people services
- 0.5p to research & development
