The 7th annual Scores for Schools golf day will take place on 7th October 2022 at West Essex Golf Club. Over the last six years - and despite some terrible amateur golf in wind, rain and occasional sunshine - we've raised funds to support more than 100 children in rural Sri Lanka to benefit from Hela Sarana's education bursary. 

But this year your support is needed more than ever. 

Across 2022 Sri Lanka has been in the grip of the worst economic crisis in its history; with inflation running at more than 60%; resulting in food, fuel and medicine shortages. This is disproportionately affecting the most vulnerable communities in Sri Lanka; with child malnutrition and access to primary health care and safe drinking water becoming urgent and widespread issues, especially in rural districts. 

Charities like Hela Sarana are attempting to address these problems. Run by volunteers in the UK and Sri Lanka, the charity delivers a range of effective projects which we have seen first hand, including medical aid and an education programme which has now supported nearly 600 children. The charity is building an emergency fund to tackle the current crisis, and every penny our golf tournament raises will be match-funded from Hela Sarana's reserves to support urgent projects.
