Story

My name is Dave Yates, and I am the racing correspondent ("Newsboy") of the Daily Mirror.
From 16-24 July 2016 I am cycling the Go Racing In Yorkshire Summer Festival in honour of my friend and press-room colleague Ray Gilpin, who died last August.
Ray's wife Sue suggested Jack Berry House as the beneficiary of the 420-mile ride - entirely fitting, as Wrexham-born Ray called Yorkshire his home, and had a personal love of, as well as a professional involvement with, racing.
I hope the odd racing luminary will join me along the way and, as a huge admirer of both Jack and the 'house' he built, I am keen to raise a few quid for the jockeys' northern rehabilitation centre.
If YOU are interested in joining me on the road, I would recommend the final two legs of the challenge - Thirsk to York (Saturday 23 July) and/or York to Pontefract (Sunday 24 July).
Apart from one hill on the way to York (Coxwold) these routes are predominantly flat and on minor roads.
It would be great to have you along, and please feel free to use this Just Giving link, which is for the event as a whole, rather than for my own personal glory.
