The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation is dedicated to the support of Vasculitis. The charity was set up in memory of Lauren Currie who died of Vasculitis at the age of 15 in October 2010. The charity funds Awareness, Education, Research and Patient Support Services & Groups throughout the UK.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2014, whilst pregnant with my daughter; my wife was diagnosed with Wegeners Granulomatosis; a very rare Auto-immune condition and form of Vasculitus. Like many kinds of Vasculitus, her condition is largely unknown and spotting its symptoms can be very difficult. The Lauren Currie Twighlight Foundation is a charity committed to providing support for people affected by Vasculitis, raising awareness and funding medical research.

To persuade you to part with your money, I will be hitting a golf ball around the Isle of Tiree. I will be doing this with two close friends on the 3rd and 4th of August 2018. The challenge will involve between 30 and 35 miles of walking, running, climbing and jumping around the shores and beaches of Tiree. This will be a far cry from the smooth fairways of Edinburgh's golf courses; instead we will be plotting our way around the coast trying to avoid various obstacles such as livestock, watercourses, rocks, buildings, people and anything else that we might come across!

We will be taking one club each and hitting one ball between us, taking alternate shots. We fully expect to lose balls!

This charity is very close to me and my family and something that I hope you would feel is worthy of your support.
