Shortly after my wife Alison was diagnosed with Cancer we started on a cancer fundraising campaign.  All types of fundraising events were held.

Following Alison's untimely death at the age of 59 & surrounded by wonderful family, friends, & supporters I continued to fundraise.  I have now raised £93,000.

Being granted a Maggie's place in the Marathon gives me the opportunity to make a large increase on that figure.

I have also accepted a challenge from a group of friends to climb Ben Nevis on 2nd May, one week after the Marathon.  This will also support Maggie's.

Being basically an unfit 72 year old but a highly motivated non runner & non climber it will be 2 painful journeys.  However I have the choice of suffering pain, Cancer sufferers don't!
