Story

The latest lockdown and what is going on around the world at the moment is thoroughly depressing.  With this in mind I am determined to do something positive during the current lockdown and have something to work towards to get some kind of fitness back before Christmas.

Starting on Thursday 5th November I am committing to do 30 minutes exercise a day until 2nd December 2020.  This can be anything from a
run to a dog walk, keep fit class or bike ride for example.  The key thing is to get 30 minutes exercise a day.  I also pledge to raise at least £50 for the Child Brain Injury Trust in the process.

I will be nominating 2 people to accept this challenge.  Assuming the lucky nominated individuals accept the challenge and commit to raise £50 they should set up a justgiving page to raise money for the Child Brain Injury Trust and also each nominate at least 1 more person to accept the challenge and raise at least £50.

Let's do something positive and raise some much needed funds for the Child Brain Injury Trust.  Anyone who knows me will be aware that this is a charity very close to my heart. I am very proud to be a special ambassador for the Child Brain Injury Trust.

The Child Brain Injury Trust is a fantastic charity and an amazing group of people who provide all manner of practical support to anyone affected by a childhood acquired brain injury. This includes the child or young person themselves, their siblings and family and the professionals that support them including for example going into school and providing training to teachers, talks for fellow pupils and help with benefits as just a few examples.

Unfortunately whilst the support provided at the acute stage in a Major Trauma Centre is usually fantastic this inevitably changes when children are discharged for various reasons. The continuing support which is provided by the Child Brain Injury Trust regardless of whether there is a claim (and in the vast majority of cases there isn’t!) is absolutely essential.

Unfortunately the Child Brain Injury receives no funding support whatsoever from central government and relies entirely on donations and grants.  With this in mind both myself and the Child Brain Injury Trust appreciate your support and any donation that you're able to spare.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
