Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Why am I taking part?
I’m sure that question will be on my mind on December 9th.   It’s partly because I love dancing, and the Strictly routine, with regular practice and a challenging routine, is brilliant, and I’ve a great partner who doesn’t seem to mind being nagged.  They say the Argentine Tango is
addictive.  I find all dancing addictive.

But I’m also doing it because I believe in Bury Hospice.  In my line of work, as a vicar, I have to visit Hospices, and I’m always struck by the sense of order, calm and kindness.   The staff, especially the
nurses, seem a race apart from the rest of us.
It’s there for people often at the most vulnerable time in their lives,
and helps them to face the big questions that dying confronts us with.  Inevitably, I come away moved by what I’ve witnessed.  My wife’s mother died in Bury Hospice and they treated her as a very special person.

I hope you will support us.  Thank you.
