Sepsis Research FEAT funds vital research into sepsis and helps to raise awareness of sepsis. Sepsis is a life-threatening condition caused by the body overreacting to infection. It kills around 50,000 people in the UK each year. Please support us today & help us in our mission to #stopsepsisnow.

Story

Sepsis Research FEAT (sepsisresearch.org.uk) is a registered charity (SC049399) and is the UK’s only sepsis research charity. Sepsis accounts for around 50,000 deaths in the UK every year, more than breast and bowel cancer combined. We don't understand enough about Sepsis and the biological processes that can lead to serious illness and in some cases death. That is why we urgently need to increase funding for research and to enable the design of effective treatments to help save lives.

Along with various friends and family who are joining me at different stages, I will be cycling the 750 (unsupported) miles over 14 continuous days (no rest days!).

Starting on 14th May from the most southerly mainland point in Scotland, the Mull of Galloway (MOG), the route will head north via Newton Stewart and the Ayrshire coast to Troon, up to Glasgow then east across and over the Forth Road Bridge and along the Fife coast via Aberdour and St. Andrews then north over the Tay Bridge and hugging the east coast via Montrose, Aberdeen, Fraserburgh, Buckie and Inverness before the final push north via Bonar Bridge, Tongue and Thurso finishing on 27th May via Dunnet Head and John O'Groats (JOG).
