We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I want to support the brave children fighting serious illnesses and their families.

My friend Rob's young daughter, Sophia, fought and tragically lost a brave battle against cancer. All the staff at London's Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital (GOSH) did a fantastic job of treating, supporting and distracting her throughout. Cancer can hit any child at any time and I have considered how terrible it would be to have my own children and family go through a similar experience.

In memory of Sophia I will run the London Marathon on 28th April 2019 for a hospital that I hope to never use. I am training hard, but it's really nothing compared to the treatment regime if you are a child fighting cancer.

If you know anyone who is fighting cancer, has fought cancer, or are affected by this story, then please dig deep and contribute whatever you can spare. I have set a personal target to raise £2000, but I really, really, want to exceed that. For every pound you contribute there will be some matching contributions, so your money will multiply!

Let's do our bit to help the lives of children fighting cancer.

A bit about GOSH: Every day, 618 children and young people from across the UK arrive. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential.

A bit about Just Giving: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.
