TRIBE: Dawn Relay for Love (50km) · 8 May 2020 ·
This Friday is the 7-year anniversary of Run for Love, the 1,000 mile run from Odessa to Dubrovnik to fight child trafficking. It is the journey that inspired TRIBE and more than £800,000 has been raised to fight modern slavery by thousands of TRIBE legends.
So what crazy challenge are we taking on... as a team of four runners we're joining the entire TRIBE and Run for Love community for a 50 km Dawn Relay, to celebrate the Run for Love trilogy, to connect us in troubled times and to support the vital projects of the TRIBE Freedom Foundation.
Over 6 legs starting at dawn on Friday, 8th May, we will be taking it in turns separately in different locations to cover 50K. Basically before breakfast!
Why?
TRIBE Freedom Foundation is on a mission to fight modern slavery and end human trafficking. They work by raising awareness of trafficking, supporting survivors and enabling frontline projects to prevent modern slavery. They empower communities to create an impact.
In 2020, they are working on two new key projects, to help prevent modern slavery and provide long term support for survivors.
However, the current Coronavirus crisis is creating serious challenges for all charities and has undoubtedly had a significant impact on TRIBE Freedom Foundation. Over 82% of their income comes from community fundraising and events, all of which have now been cancelled for the foreseeable future.
Now, more than ever, the pandemic is putting more adults and children who are already in, or vulnerable to modern slavery, at even higher risk of exploitation, so your support could not be more important.
Thank you for your support,
Nik, Victoria, Johnny & Chris
