Story

Research tells us that music education can change the future of disadvantaged children in so many different ways.

Children become engaged and confident at school, getting along better with peers and teachers, while making significant improvements in their reading, writing and maths skills. All of these benefits lead to new opportunities for their futures.

At a Goulburn primary school, there are a group of children who have had limited access t these benefits, but that is all about to end. We need your support. The Goulburn Strings Project wants to keep the program going and make it better. Instead of 25 children sharing 5 violins, playing for half an hour a week and not being able to practise at home, we want 50 children to each have a violin and to learning and play their instruments every day.  The Vivaldi String Shop in Sydney has generously donated 50 violins worth $20,000 to the project. Now we need money for a teacher and some extra equipment. To get this up and running, we need $40,000 by July 2014. We're nearly halfway there, with a donation of 50 violins.

Now we need $40,000 to get a music teacher and equipment.
