Story
*Edit January *
Unfortunately our stay in Alder Hey resulted in in helicopter transfer to Great Ormond street, London .
Jake’s heart was too poorly to recover and he is currently in CICU on the urgent transplant list. In November Jake had surgery to fit a Berlin Heart , we have affectionately named Hiro , after his favourite train.
We spent Christmas here.
It’s been stressful , but it could have been much worse. I’m not going to lie, some days have been bottle of wine days , some days have been 2 bottle days!
Because we haven’t hit target yet and because I need to lose weight and drink less, I’m going to be doing dry January, this will involve being alcohol free for the longest month of the year , over 200 miles away from home & with a very tricky child ! To enhance the experience, I’m also going to take the stairs to the 4th floor every day , rather than the lift.
Please sponsor me to help us hit our target for Alder Hey !
*Edit October 2020
We should be on our way to Disneyland tomorrow, but instead we are having a different kind of holiday .
We are going to Alder Hey to try and work our why our gorgeous boy is so poorly .
Many people have asked how they can help , just keep Jake in your thoughts please , and if you fancy it, donations are always welcome xx
*Edit * September 2020
As some of you know, I am celebrating a big birthday in October . And thanks to Alder Hey I have all I ever needed .
People have asked if they can do anything to mark the occasion though , so if you’d like to , a tiny donation on here would be wonderful , thank you !
*EDIT* August 2020
We are going to keep this page open for other fundraising!
Jake & Daisy took part in a virtual race for Alder hey in August ! They did so well and raised over £350 !

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My little boy Jake is a cardiac patient at Alder Hey. We lived in the hospital for pretty much his first year , until he was helicopter transferred to Great Ormond Street hospital for surgery.
Jake spent his first birthday fighting for his life on ICU ,hundreds of miles away from friends and family.. to show support many people we know wore stripes and uploaded photos and messages using #gozebraforjake . We raised almost £2,000 for alder hey in the process
The following day he had open heart surgery that was so risky , we weren't given odds. We kissed his head goodbye for what could have been the last time that day.
Thankfully he survived and although he is not cured and still needs lots of support and ongoing care from Alder Hey ; he is a happy , cheeky almost 5 year old !
I can’t give him the birthday party he wanted, or deserves , and he is fine about it , but we would love it if people could wear some stripes on his birthday , upload a photo & make a little donation to Alder Hey . Let’s #gozebraforjake again !
Not only are Alder hey an amazing children’s hospital , they are now facing a battle with covid-19 . They will be treating children AND adults , so I’d love to raise some money in the toughest of times.
