The Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we’re moving further and faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. A cure really can’t wait

Story

In a few weeks on the 22nd May I am running the Hackney Half Marathon. I will be running it in support of the Brain Tumour Charity.

Scarily brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer for children and adults under 40 years old. At least 88,000 children and adults are estimated to be living with a brain tumour in the UK. This cause is close to me and my family. As my Grandfather passed away due to a cancerous tumour called a Glioblastoma, and my brother was diagnosed with a benign tumour called a Acoustic neuroma. Rory underwent surgery back in 2019 and is now fit and well. Although, he now suffers from hearing loss in one ear and tinnitus.

Over £700m is spent on cancer research in the UK each year, however less than 3% of this is on brain tumours. Any donation small or large would be hugely appreciated by me and the charity!

Thank you so much,

Grace xxx
