Hello everyone, I’m Grace and in August 2023 I will be part of the Play Action International team volunteering in Uganda for 2 weeks. We will be transforming an empty field at a local school into an exciting new playground bursting with colour and fun, leaving a legacy for children to learn and develop essential life skills and nurture their physical, psychological, and social development through the language they know best – Play! All funds raised will go to Play Action to be spent on playground materials, play-based sessions (including parent and child interactions), and general charitable activities for the locals in Uganda. I will be covering my own travel and accommodation costs. 

I’ve always wanted to be a part of something that helps make a difference to those less fortunate than I am, so it was an easy decision for me to take up this opportunity. My Dad was born in Uganda and even lived in Jinja at one point, the town where the playground will be built. So that is an added connection for me.
