Running 100 miles in a month for the railway children ! · 6 May 2020

Railway Children has a vision of a world in which no child is lost to the streets. Across the UK, India and Tanzania, our networks provide an opportunity for us to reach children who are alone and vulnerable before they come to serious harm. Together, we’re determined we’ll leave no child behind.

Story

These past weeks have been a true testament to the bravery and dedication of our country.

I decided to set myself a challenge to raise some money for 'Railway Children', as a gesture of thanks for the immense efforts made by so many people at the moment.

Railway Children is a charity focussing on the 100,000 children who run away from home every year in the UK. Often these at-risk children seek refuge in railway stations, where they can be at risk of sexual exploitation, trafficking, and drug running.

In the current times, thousands of children who view school as an escape from their abusive households are finding themselves stuck at home, leaving them particularly vulnerable.

Railway Children employees and volunteers are doing their absolute best to continue on their mission to save children from the dangers that life on the streets can bring.

British Transport Police are referring any potentially vulnerable children found at railways to Railway Children. Volunteers are attempting to maintain contact with at-risk children and families while dealing with the increasing number of calls they are receiving.

I hope that, if you are able, you can help this amazing cause cope with the financial restrictions they are facing due to the implications of the current pandemic.

Thank you,

Grace x
