Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Please join us in a fundraiser fun day on the 29th June and support the dedicated work of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Bristol Royal Children's Hospital.
The charity that supports the hospital is the Wallace & Gromit Grand Appeal with the titular characters as its figure head. As a nod to this, there will be a 'Wrong Trousers Day' in which you are invited to wear the funniest/'dodgiest'/most outrageous pair of trousers you can find in lieu of your normal uniform.
You will be uniting with so many others in Bridport, including Stags Estate Agents, Salwayash Primary School, Pre-schools and Nurseries, Bridport Leisure Centre, Framptons Butchers, Lavendar Blue Florists, Young Farmers, Bankers and Cafés to name but a few and it would be fantastic to have as many people on board as possible (with your school/employer permission of course!).
The hospital and most importantly the intensive care unit (PICU) serves the entire South West of England and Wales and is both a regional and specialist centre for critically ill new-borns and children up to 16 as well as working with the adjacent St Michaels in its care for neonatal cardiology.
From detailed antenatal cardiac diagnostics to emergency retrieval services; from neonatal cardiac surgeries to an invasive tracheotomy; from daily infusions to resuscitations and from rare and never recorded before genetics – our family experienced the entire spectrum of what this facility can offer, but in the end, our beautiful daughter Grace's life was tragically cut short when a transfer from her life support machine caused a shock to her lungs from which she couldn't recover.
Since her passing, we continue to raise money for the unit that cared for her and gave her life so much meaning.
There are now ventilators (life support) that can mean a transfer of wet/dry air is a reduced risk to vulnerable children and we are keen to get PICU more of these in our little girl's memory.
There is so much more to share of Grace's story and you only have to ask!
She wore pink every day and smiled 3 magical times.

We never heard her voice but now shout from the roof tops of her incredible journey and legacy.
If you can join us in this fun day, you will be supporting children and families all over the South West and nationally, in the event that they too need these services.

Donations can also be made by texting GWTD99 £1 to 70070 - it's as easy as that (£2, £3, £4, £5 and £10 are also possible).

Please donate what you can and wear the wrong trousers for a day!

In anticipation,
A Massive Thank you.
