The SCCMI is a national Centre providing a range of education, therapy, care and family support services to children aged 0-19 with profound and multiple learning disabilities and who are affected by neurological and life limiting conditions, including cerebral palsy and Rett syndrome.

Story

Im going to run the Edinburgh half marathon in May 2017 to raise money for the Craighalbert centre in Cumbernauld which is a centre for children with motor impairments.

My 3 year old daughter Beth has been attending the centre since she was very young and will hopefully continue to attend throughout her childhood.

Beth was born with cerebral palsy and unfortunately she's never been able to crawl, walk, talk or eat as well as having a number of other issues.

The centre offers great assistance and help for Beth and other children with motor impairments.

The staff having amazing patience and positivity which helps the children when they are in the centre.

Although the children who attend the centre have a number of issues seeing them smile makes everything worthwhile.
