Veganuary 2017 · 1 January 2017 to 31 January 2017 ·
So my lovely wife Michelle Mathias (along with some recent health problems) has finally convinced me that I should give this vegan malarkey a go.
For a man whose main devotions, after Michelle and my children Edgar and Elise, are to roast chicken, beef pho, smoked salmon & scrambled eggs, this has the potential to either be a revelation or a very long 31 days. One of causes they'll be supporting is an animal sanctuary in Australia called Edgar's Mission, so it just seems like destiny... wish me luck!
As well as the health aspects, don't forget that the most abused animals on this planet – farmed animals– are typically overlooked. Veganuary wants to change that. It's mission is to reduce the suffering of farmed animals by inspiring people to try vegan in January, and throughout the rest of the year.Farmed animals, just like cats and dogs, are able to experience pain and happiness. The mass production of animals for food and clothing has resulted in an industry that cares little for their well-being, and causes them to suffer in innumerable ways.
