Canterbury to St Mary's Pilgimage Walk · 15 November 2020 to 30 November 2020 ·

We are building an inclusive community church as our response to the world environmental crisis, a sanctuary for wellbeing, learning and positive action. We are enhancing the heritage of our thousand year old church with solar power, air source heating, accessible toilets, and a meeting room.

Story

2 years ago I had the idea to get our church of St Mary the Virgin in Eling Hampshire to become an Eco Church as a response to the climate, pollution and extinction crisis. The dream is becoming a reality and now I need to help raise £350,000 to pay for it!  My walk is 200 miles to my home church by the river Test in Hampshire by way of five cathedrals, Canterbury, Rochester, Guilford, Winchester and Salisbury.  It will be hard work at at 15 to 20 miles a day but worth the sore feet to be able transform our 1000 year old church into a building for the wellbeing and enjoyment of whole community. We want to save and celebrate nature and give us all hope for the future. Please be part of the story by donating as much as you can.
