In May 2018 I'm running (with some walking, crawling and rolling as needed) 10 marathons in 10 days around beautiful Lake Windermere (yes, 10 consecutive days...one after the other).  This is not something I'm desperate to do.  However, I have been inspired by my Brother and my Sister in law who have previously completed this challenge and raised lots of money for Brathay in the process.  Also I get 10 medals at the end, which was the clincher.

I'm not a super athlete or great runner.  I've run a marathon a year for the last 4 years and just about got around the course each time - but  I'm looking forward to this challenge, and appreciate your help and support for the Brathay trust, who host this event and will look after me and the other 19 runners during the 262 mile (422 km) jog.

The Brathay Trust provides support for vulnerable young people who are experiencing difficulties in life (because of issues such as lack of family support, temptation of drugs and alcohol abuse at a young age, sexual and gang exploitation) and works with them, their families and communities to provide stability and improve their chances in life.  I have supported this charity for the last few years and encourage you to donate as well, and to support the great work they do.
