The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!

As you may already be aware, I will be retiring in May of this year.
In honour of my retirement my wife, Sue, and I will be participating in the Peru Hiking Challenge, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The ten-day trek, from May 24th until June 2nd, follows the Inca trail through Wayllabamba and Mount Machu Picchu, passing through lush forest, green valleys and high passes up to 4,200m above sea level. Be assured this is no mean feat, as we will face up to 12 gruelling hours of hiking, over diverse mountainous country, each day!

By doing this, we are aiming to raise at least £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. I am also going to donate the £2,600, which is paid by Macmillan Cancer Support to cover our expenses, to the Footwear Benevolent Society. In addition, PAVERS as a company has offered to match up to £10,000 of all the money we raise in aid of Cancer Research UK.

One in three people will be diagnosed with Cancer within their lifetime, which is approximately 740 people each day. Macmillan Cancer Support relies upon external contributions and donations to provide medical, social and emotional support, and information about preventing, recognising and treating cancer.

We would be delighted if you would consider sponsoring us, to help us beat our £10,000 target for Macmillan Cancer Support, and hopefully another £10,000 for Cancer Research, so please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support,
Graham and Sue
