Adam's Camp Northern Ireland is an amazing new charity in NI. After the success of our inaugural camp last year with 10 families from NI at the stunning location of Corrymeela, Ballycastle. We have been encouraged to extend to 20 families this year.
We provide intensive therapies for children and young people on the autism spectrum, activities for siblings and the all important respite for parents.
Adam's Camp has a 30 history in the U.S.A. Founded by Bob and Karel Horney from Colorado for their son Adam who has special needs.
Adam's Camp has supported over 15,000 families in the States and has five other locations in North America, Northern Ireland is their first international camp.
My family attended Adam's Camp Nantucket in July 2015, with our daughter Rose, who has autism, so she may experience this innovative therapy approach to autism. Once my husband and I seen at first hand the positive changes this made to our daughter, we felt inspired by the Americans and compelled by the autism community to bring Adam's Camp to NI.
We are raising money for our 2017 summer camp and have a number of runners entered in the Belfast City Marathon to run on behalf of Adam's Camp NI.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and donating a few pounds towards enriching the lives of families touched by autism in Northern Ireland.
Many thanks to our relay team:
Ruadhrai O'Kane
Annagh Rafferty
Patrick Ashe
Veronica Ashe
Anthony Mc Gurk
And David Cushley who is running the entire Marathon alone, brave man.
Good luck to all our runners
Thank you, so very much,
