I walked over hot coals...and that's enough challenge for the time being!  The whole experience was amazing - exhilarating, terrifying, and euphorically exhausting.  

Myself and 35 other people came out of the pre-firewalk training session in a village hall to a dark, cold and very wet pub carpark to be met with flames scarily roaring from the fiery walkway.  At this point I was prepared to walk over hot coals...but no-one told us about ankle-licking flames.  

There was an aura of hushed angst from our many faithful and encouraging supporters and I admit, steadily growing trepidation from me.  However, when the coals were flattened and spread out to form a 20 ft long 600 degree Fahrenheit walkway, there was nothing to it.  We all walked over the fiery coals and survived to tell the tale unscathed.  Twelve soft strident steps for me, with very dirty and tingly feet to show for it at the end.

Between us, we have raised over £8,000 for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust.  A great contribution to the annual sum of £540,000 the Trust needs to raise to provide their great services.
