As someone who exercises most days I thought I would challenge myself by hitting two of my 2023 goals early. 1)Take myself out my comfort zone by competing in an endurance event (Hyrox) and 2) raise money for charity. What a great opportunity to do both!

A quick summary of what Hyrox is - a relatively new sport that is a mixture of running and functional exercises. There's 8 exercises with 1km run between each. The exercises are between predominantly  legs and upper body pull,  for example 200meters of lunges then a 1km run in to a 80m sled pull weighing 152kg... For those who know me, I am generally fit however this wont be easy. I promise to push myself as I don't just want to finish the event I would like to get a good time and most importantly, I want to battle myself both physically and mentally as there's people out there fighting far harder battles with cancer. 

Maybe this could help you with your dry January or healthy start to 2023 by asking you to donate your beer money or takeaway treat money to a good cause... If you don't ask you don't get, right?
