Story

Since I was a boy, I've dreamed of one day travelling to Mount Everest. To walk across the narrow suspension bridge to Namche Bazaar, visit the temples and experience the Nepalese culture. To walk through the Himalayas and see Everest in real life. So as I approach my 40th birthday, it is the perfect time to go on an adventure.

I will be hiking to an altitude of 5600 metres (that's over five Snowdon's on top of one another) over 13 days.

At the same time, it would be a waste to not use this opportunity to raise some money for a great cause. I have chosen a local charity, as my wife and I have settled into a wonderful new home and area. We would like to give our support to the region.

I am fundraising to support the staff of the North West Ambulance Service who do so much. They are there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The charity provides lifesaving equipment, education programmes, community first responders and mental health & well-being programmes, for the amazing staff outside of NHS funding and supports services.

About the charity

The North West Ambulance Charity funds lifesaving equipment, education programmes and other projects to benefit the health, wellbeing and safety of patients, staff and the wider community outside of core NHS funding. Supporting staff, saving lives.
