Shaving my beard for Rowan's new cot · 20 October 2021

Life For a Kid was set up in March 2009 with the aim of helping children under the age of 16 by offering funds and equipment to help them lead a better life and to also help children who require life saving or life changing operations.

Story

Hi guys! I've been wanting to give back to the Castleford community before I move home to Australia - I've been wondering how I might do this and finally decided I would shave my beard, which I've been growing for 12 months, at my All Stars game on Wednesday 20th October - my wife and I have been made aware of a local boy Rowan who was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. After 217 days Rowan is finally home but requires a special cot that can contain all his medical equipment and is adjustable to help control the fluid on his brain to aid his shunt. Rowan has a cot on loan only until December 2021, after this time it is up to his family to purchase one, which is nearly £5,000 (they are about £1,100 from their goal). Together with Life for a Kid charity, let's rally around this family and support them in any way we can!
