Having done an IronMan (Zurich) in July 2011, I was looking for my next challenge, and thanks to Emily's, our office manager's, better half, Jo, I decided to support Transform Housing.

Transform is an amazing charity that changes the lives of vulnerable people.  They work to prevent homelessness by providing accomodation and support, but also to provide assistance with things like health, mental and emotional health, dealing with offences, drug or alcohol issues.  I am running this for the specifc project called "The Crescent" in Woking, providing supported housing for 14 people aged 18-30 years.

The Trionium Greensand Marathon was voted Britain's best marathon in 2010. A classically simple and challenging course, from the Nower in Dorking via Westcott and Wolvens Lane to the Plough at Coldharbour and then to the top of South East England's highest point, Leith Hill - and then, following the Greensand Way, taking in the summits of Somerset Hill, Holmbury Hill, Pitch Hill, Reyards Hill and Winterfold Hill (and back). Off-road, muddy, lumpy, challenging. Should benefit from stunning autumn colours. Around 5200 feet of ascent and descent - ie a vertical mile.  This is going to be the most brutal marathon I have ever run.
