Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In 2008 Tudor lost a well liked and respected member of staff, Grant Christensen, tragically and unexpectedly. Grant had worked at Tudor for eleven and a half years and had only recently returned to Sydney with his young family to continue working in the Tudor, Sydney office.

Grant was an avid sportsman and a keen follower of all sporting events. In particular he was, as may be expected for an Aussie, a great follower of cricket. Grant was a quietly popular member of staff and a true gentleman who is missed by all who knew him at Tudor.

We thought it apt to organise a charity cricket match to honor his memory. we are intending to raise funds for two charities that Penny, Grant's widow, feels he would have wanted to support. The first is the Special Olympics Great Britain (SOGB), a UK based charity , which is an arm of the wider Olympic family. The SOGB was established in 1978 and provides opportunities for learning disabled people to access sports training and a competitive games programme. It currently has more than 8000 children and adults in over 130 groups Great Britain offering in excess of twenty sports in training and competition programmes. It concentrates on providing year round community sport at all levels and abilities. Take a look at the opportunities it provides on www.sogb.org.uk

The second charity is an Australian one. The National Centre for Childhood Grief provides support for children who have lost a parent through counselling and enabling them to keep there parents memory alive.  Grants children are directly benefiting from the support this charity provides.
