Story

We are once again challenging ourselves to help raise some money to support the Heartlands CF clinic based in the West Midlands. They have continued to provide excellent care for their high-risk patients throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

Since 2017 each year we have challenged ourselves to help build awareness of our chosen charity. In 2017 we completed the National 3 Peak Challenge, followed by the  14 Peak Challenge in 2018 and Our Hadrian's Wall Challenge in 2019.

Unfortunately, we didn't manage to get out in 2020 due to the travel restrictions in place, so fingers crossed for this year, and to celebrate we are going bigger and bolder... again.

The Great Glen Way stretches for 118.5km from coast to coast across the Highlands, linking the main centers of Fort William and the regional capital of Inverness. On top of the 120km distance, we're going to finish the challenge this year by climbing Ben Nevis... I may regret saying that.

We are attempting to complete the challenge in 3 days, against a recommended time of 7 days (excluding Ben Nevis). To spice things up and to save us some time (as we all have work and families), we are going to ride the first 50 miles on our bikes, followed by a marathon walk on day 2 and an 18-mile walk and climb up Ben Nevis on day 3.

We expecting to be walking up to 12 hours a day on day 2 and 3 so it's going to be tough. We'd love your support.
