Story
I'm running the 2026 Great North Run for Prostate Cancer UK.
Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That's one dad, partner, brother, grandad, or mate and earlier this year my dad became a part of that statistic when he was diagnosed. Watching someone you love face multiple hospital appointments, scans and countless rounds of treatment really showcased the reality of this disease and how it impacts not only the individual but also their families.
I’m raising money to help fund lifesaving research, earlier diagnosis, and vital support services for men and their families affected by prostate cancer. Every donation will help Prostate Cancer UK continue their work supporting people through diagnosis, treatment, and beyond.
Training for this run will be interesting to say the least. The longest I’ve ever run is 10k (literally once), so signing up for the Great North Run is me officially questioning my life choices. But it’s all worth it to support such an important cause. Thanks to everyone who donates, shares, or pretends to believe I can actually do this!
