Story
This year I’m taking on the Great North Run, but I’m not just running for the medal—I’m running for my dad, Big Pete.
He’s always been a bit of a legend in our family and community: a former North Shields rugby player, a coach who still inspires the next generation, and someone who’s only just retired before life threw him a curveball.
Recently, Big Pete was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He had no symptoms. The only reason he went for a check was because he saw Prostate Cancer UK mentioned on the TV.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, and catching it early is absolutely key. If you’re a man over 50—or over 45 with a family history—please get checked. It’s quick, it’s simple, and it could save your life.
I’m running to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK, to support men like my dad, fund research, and spread awareness about the importance of early detection. Every donation will make a real difference. Please sponsor me and help me make sure more dads get the checks they need—and keep being the legends we know them to be.
