MQ are the mental health research charity. They transform lives through research, helping to create a future where mental illnesses are understood, effectively treated and one day prevented.  

Right now, one in four people in the UK are living with a mental health condition. MQ fund top scientists who develop groundbreaking research projects to transform how we approach mental illness. Our scientists investigate a huge range of issues: depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, eating disorders and more. We’re bringing together everything from cutting-edge neuroscience to social studies to find the answers we need. Better is possible. 

In the UK, for every £1 spent by the Government on mental health research, the general public donates just 0.3p. That’s less than half a penny. The equivalent charitable donation for cancer research is £2.75 (that's more than 900 times more).
