At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hi everyone, first of all thank you so much for taking the time to
visit my page.

Back in September 2016 my beloved Nan sadly passed away, she
suffered from Vascular Dementia.

Vascular dementia is caused by reduced blood supply to the brain due to diseased blood vessels.

This death of brain cells can cause problems with memory, thinking or
reasoning. Together these three elements are known as cognition. When these cognitive problems are bad enough to have a significant impact on daily life, this is known as vascular dementia.

My Nan was one of the strongest ladies I knew, I watched a lady
who had helped me to cook as a child, who held our family together when times were tough and who we could always go to when we needed help, turn into basically a child.

I would like to raise as much awareness and gain as much support
as I possibly can, not only because of my Nan, but for every single person out there who suffers from Dementia/Alzheimer's
or anyone who has lost someone to this awful disease. If you are able to
sponsor me and help raise awareness I will be so very grateful.

Much love and thank you

Michelle x
