I am taking part in my first ever half marathon, the Great North Run, on the 8th September. I’m running it for my wonderful mum Joan. She was diagnosed around 8 years ago and is still fighting the daily battles that this disease brings.

I want to run this iconic race to help raise awareness of this awful disease and to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s society to help all those affected.

The Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
