There was a time I couldn't make it to the end of the road....

So here is a little run down of the things I've done....
It all began in 2008 when I ran the Edinburgh Marathon and then again in 2009. This was followed by the Chester Marathon in October 2011, where I got a pb. I have run the Birmingham Half Marathon in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2013. I have also run the Silverstone Half Marathon in 2012, a month before I ran the London Marathon. I then looked for a harder challenge in the form of the Loch Ness Marathon in 2013. It was tough but I finished. I then ran for Pancreatic Cancer UK in the Great North Run in 2014. 2015 was a tough year for me personally and I did a few Obstacle Course Races, one of which involved braving icy waters on a bitter February day. In 2016 I completed my first ever Half Ironman; a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and a half marathon thrown in at the end. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I’ve now completed the Birmingham Velo 100 mile bike ride which was a stupidly difficult course and tough going!
John died of pancreatic cancer on 22 January 2007 after a hard fight. He was into running like I am and completed 2 marathons in his time, though I never found out how long they took him! He was hardworking, caring and passionate about looking after his family. He was always there for us no matter what. He taught me and my brother Neale all the values that a person needs. Kindness, generosity, honesty, integrity and making sure you take the piss out of someone at every opportunity. It has been and continues to be a long and difficult time, everyday I think of him, everyday I miss him. I knew very little about pancreatic cancer before this happened. As it says on this page, it has the lowest survival rate of all cancers. John didn't stand a chance.
This page is dedicated to John. He was the bravest and most courageous person I've ever met. Not once did he show fear and he faced his illness with dignity and courage and I can only aspire to be like him. Please help me do the only thing I have left to do, raise money. Pancreatic Cancer UK will receive your money electronically, so it's really easy and there's no excuses.
Many thanks for reading.
All my love,
Hannah xxx
