My journey begins with my WHY or perhaps a number of WHY’s . I am Zimbabwean born having been raised in Bulawayo . I attended school at both BG Primary and Founders High School in Bulawayo.. Fast forward to the present day where I am a Project Manager based in Gaberone . Alongside my lovely wife Lynette we have been involved in a number of fundraising initiatives and I am always on the look out for one that resonates and so when I saw a request on fb from Community Action Trust a registered charity in the UK who take care of many vulnerable elderly in Zimbabwe looking for assistance to help renovate the communal bathroom at Rhodes Jubilee cottages I immediately felt this one was for me right now .Rhodes Jubilee Cottages hold a special place in my heart having grown up around so many aspects of its existence.
Another WHY is the aspect of my health and how I wish this ride to be an encouraging one for those who like myself face the onset of diabetes and how important it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle. So it’s a win win for me . Raise much needed funds to improve the livelihood of those who came way before me and for future generations long after this bike journey is done as well as to motivate others to make a change in their lifestyles and habits . Community Action Trust or CAT as it better known recently opened a chapter in Botswana and it is this small group of unselfish individuals that I dedicate this ride as we help build CAT Botswana dedicated to making a difference to the lives of all those vulnerable and marginalised individuals who come under the CAT umbrella . .” Together we are stronger “
