Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

On Saturday 22 June, a small group of us are running the 'Buchaille Dash' to raise money for charity in memory of a much-missed school friend of ours, Charlotte Pitstra, who died from an undiagnosed heart condition.

The Buchaille Dash involves a 6am starting pistol followed by a 16 mile 'dash' across Rannoch moor to Glencoe. After climbing the Buchaille Etive Mor, a Munro mountain, there's the small matter of the 16 miles back homewards to Rannoch station. In total, around 35 miles, with all supplies (water, food, maps etc) on our backs.

I'm fundraising for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) - any donations would be very gratefully received and help keep us going on those long miles across the moor.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
